The Gulf Coast has a long history of collecting and shipping seafood throughout the country. Prior to Hurricane Katrina, there were many seafood packing plants in the area. Over time that has changed and while the seafood is still being caught most is not processed here.
Lots of people are curious about alligators. While they do not roam around everywhere along the Gulf Coast, this is an ideal habitat for Alligators and there are lots of them in various places. You can see lots of them if you go to the Gulf Coast Gator Ranch.
