The Gulf Coast has a long history of collecting and shipping seafood throughout the country. Prior to Hurricane Katrina, there were many seafood packing plants in the area. Over time that has changed and while the seafood is still being caught most is not processed here.
Regardless, there is a rich history and the Maritime & Seafood Industry Museum is the place to see how some of your favorite seafood is caught and managed. Events are held at the Museum which is located on Biloxi Bay. Use this link to checkout their website where you can lern more abut when they are open.
