Miles and miles of beaches are available on the Mississippi Gulf Coast for your enjoyment. Here is a short list of things about our beaches that you should know:
- 1. Beaches are open 24/7. Some other areas close beaches at sunset until dawn. Not here, enjoy the evening lying on the beach looking at the stars.
- 2. Fire pits are provided for use on the beach. Reserve one for your family or party
- 3. Beach weddings are very popular. The area around the intersection of Cowan and U.S. 95 is the most popular
- 4. Alcohol is permitted on beaches but not in glass containers.
- 5. Dogs are permitted on the beach sidewalk and on beaches in Jackson and Hancock Counties, not in Harrison County
- 6. Jet ski, chair, and umbrella rentals are available at specific locations on the beach
- 7. Parking at all beaches is free.
- 8. The water is warm in the summer and it is very shallow making it a great place to take children.
- 9. Fishing is permitted on all beaches and there is a large variety of fish in the water
- 10. Stingrays and jellyfish are very rare on the Mississippi Gulf Coast
- 11. Fishing piers are provided for use at no charge.
- 12. Restrooms are located at some fishing piers along the Coast.
- 13. Many restaurants are located either on the beach or across the street from the beach
- 14. A miles-long paved bike path is available from Ocean Springs to Waveland on the beach
- 15. Kite surfing is a popular sport on many Gulf Coast beaches
Take a nice driver along U.S. 90, Beach Blvd and see the beautiful beach and great homes. Only a few buildings are on the beach side of the drive from Biloxi to Waveland. The visitor below is having a good time
