Mississippi permits most types of weapons and there are several ranges along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Bring your guns with you. A few miles north, the U.S. Government has a no-cost range in the national forest.
Try one of the several private ranges that permit guests by the hour or day. If you live in a state that is not second amendment friendly, you will find that Mississippi welcomes you and your weapons to be used at licensed ranges.
The McHenry Shooting Facility is a state of Mississippi Department of Wildlife and Fisheries facility. This is an excellent facility open to the public. They have several separate areas for different types of weapons and on-site range masters for safety. It’s a large facility, well maintained and good for trying out a separate pistol, rifle, shotgun ranges.
